I always wondered what the point of cooking was. There are frozen eggrolls in the world, after all, so why bother? Then I got married.

It’s not like my husband expected it, far from it actually, but I suddenly wanted to start making the meals I remembered from my childhood. Sharing a meal I had prepared (that didn’t come from a box) became a way of expressing love. I finally got it, and thus began my love affair with the art of cooking.

For the Love of Paella posts are a diary of sorts. Paella was the first thing I really made from scratch for the husband that came out right, so I figured it was apropos. This is a compendium of our shared life through food. The recipes will rarely be my own, but I will always give credit when I can.
